Michael Houston worked for McCain Foods who provided him with a Final Salary Pension Scheme. He was visited at his home by an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) and was persuaded to transfer his company pension into a SIPP with Pointon York. The money was subsequently transferred into high risk sectors often referred to as Alternative Investment Structures. This transfer led to losses running into tens of thousands of pounds.
As the IFA was now out of business we contacted the FSCS and made a claim on behalf of Michael.
Our detailed claim led to a payout of £50,000.
Michael commented: `I thought my pension was lost until I contacted Goodwin Barrett, they helped me every step of the way to retrieve my pension`
