Colin Booth

In 2006 Mr Booth had re-mortgaged his home through the Cheltenham & Gloucester in order to clear some previous finance and also to raise money for some home improvements he had planned on his property.  In December 2006, Lloyds TSB persuaded Mr Booth to sit down with a financial adviser after depositing the funds into his account that he had allocated for his home improvements.  The adviser recommended he invest £7,000 into a Stocks and Shares ISA.

Mr Booth closed this ISA within 2 years of the original investment in order to pay for the required home improvements, but got back much less than his original investment.

After investigating Mr Booth’s case it was clear that he had been wrongly advised to invest his money in this way as it was borrowed money and he was going to need access to it.

We took Mr Booth’s case to Lloyds TSB and got him back £2,238 to cover his losses, interest and compensation.
